Do you want a relaxing weekend after Thanksgiving? Here are some places you can go for free to take in the view.

Take a stroll through Beaumont Botanical Gardens at 6088 Babe Zaharias Drive
Stroll around the 23.5 acre garden of ever-changing beauty located near the entrance to Tyrrell Park. The gardens are also a great place to bird watch as well as sitting and taking time to smell the flowers.

Visit the Sabine Pass Battleground Historic Site at 6100 Dowling Road, Port Arthur
This site tells the story of a battle that lasted less than an hour at Sabine Pass. The site includes memorial features such as the bronze statue of Lt. Richard “Dick” Dowling and the memorial to the Union casualties of the battle. With the illustrated story of the battle and the scaled model of Fort Griffin, this is a great place to take a relaxing stroll while learning about history.

Light Up Vidor 2020 at 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. at 290 South Street on Sunday.
Join Eastgate Church as they light up their 28 foot Christmas tree! There will be over 30 vendor booths and a wide variety of food options.

Light Up Green Thumb Unlimited at 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at 200 N Main Street, Vidor on Saturday.
Kick off the 2020 Christmas season with Green Thumb Unlimited as they light their 20 foot Christmas tree! There will be family activities, photo places and a lot more family fun.
